The objects of the Almshouse Association are to assist charity trustees to manage their resources effectively, to support them in providing good quality housing for those in need, to promote the welfare and independence of residents and to preserve the historic tradition of almshouses for future generations. The Almshouse Association has an excellent web site and members area. The Forum in the members area is a valuable resource of information. They also provide excellent telephone support when needed.

Housing Ombudsman Service

The vision of the Housing Ombudsman Service is to improve residents’ lives and landlords’ services through housing complaints.

The Housing Ombudsman is an independent, impartial, and free service for social housing residents and makes the final decision on disputes between residents and landlords that are registered members of its Scheme.
